Morton College

Heritage Hall Museum

Located in Cicero, Illinois, Morton College is situated in an area rich in history, and in order to further the concept of the community college being a learning-centered environment, the administration made the bold decision to create a museum on campus for its students, faculty, staff, and community to truly appreciate the community history.

By carving out a portion of a defunct Media Production Studio on campus and utilizing the adjacent corridor space, a display system was created to highlight the following historical references within the communities served by Morton College:

  • Reynolds Metals
  • Hawthorne Works
  • Hotpoint
  • Electro-Motive

Exposed brick walls and pilasters constructed from actual brick from local factories and state-of-the-art display and lighting systems were installed to highlight the dozens of historical artifacts on display
