Palos Hospital

Health & Fitness Center

The design team worked closely with the leadership of Palos Hospital to program and design a facility that houses treatment and preventative healthcare programs for hospital employees and members of the Orland Park and Palos Hills communities.

The two-story “open mall” space plan was integrated into the bold design that supports the firm ideology held by the hospital: “medical treatment will be viewed with fewer stigmas when it is integrated into daily activity”, and “the desire to prevent illness will become more prevalent in our society”.

Programmatic elements within the new facility include:

  • 1/8th Mile Suspended Running Track
  • (7) Lane Lap Pool Designed for Water Aerobics
  • Warm Water Therapy Pool
  • Gymnasium
  • Physical Therapy Space
  • Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Space
  • Locker Rooms with Lounge Space and Whirlpool
  • Daycare
  • Spa
  • Restaurant
