As part of Morton College’s goal to incorporate additional Student Life Space and Student Support Space throughout the campus, the college embarked on a project to completely renovate and upgrade an existing student “hang out” space on campus into a new Student Success Center. The following spaces were created to achieve this goal:
In an effort to create a more welcoming environment and to encourage students to explore the new space, the new SSC opens up to the existing corridor and incorporates a new reception desk at its entrance. Bold colors, curved lines, and exposed ceilings were integrated into the design to respond to the College’s desire to create a “loft-like” atmosphere and to promote a relaxed environment for its students.
