Galesburg School District No.205

Galesburg High School New Multi-Purpose Building, Stadium & Fields

As part of the “Operation Rebuild – Achievement” program for Galesburg High School, DKA served as the Design Architect and worked closely with administrators, teachers, coaches, students, parents, school district board members, and community members in a series of open forums to locate and prioritize program elements in order to design a new multi-purpose building, new athletic stadium, and new athletic fields for the high school.

Upon development of a consensus plan, the athletic stadium and multi-purpose building were located in the physical center of the overall campus where visitors can view this facility as one of their first impressions of the school in order to support the District’s priority to “bring new families to Galesburg” and the student bodies’ first priority to “enhance student pride.”

The project included the following:

  • New Entry to the School
  • New Artificial Turf Football / Soccer Field, Fieldhouse, and Track
  • New Baseball and Softball Fields
  • Venue for Basketball and Volleyball Tournaments
  • Indoor Practice Facility for Track and Field
  • Improved Site Circulation and Landscaping
  • Shelter for Weather Events on Campus
  • Long-term Campus Master Plan
