BigShots Golf St. George

At the inception of this project, DKA was forewarned that the Desert Color Zoning requirements in St. George, UT were cumbersome and somewhat difficult to navigate. While the regulations were lengthy, however, they were well developed and easy to understand by our team due to our previous experience working with dozens of unique municipalities. DKA provided very clear and detailed documentation and other exhibits that made the few meetings with the genuinely nice people at the St. George Desert Color Zoning Board easy and short.

This new Golf Entertainment Facility includes the following programmatic elements:

• Efficient two-story entry with views through the building to the golfing range
• Two levels of 26 Golfing Bays, 52 total bays
• Full-service kitchen, restaurant and bar for 100 people
• Outdoor semi-realistic synthetic turf putting course and dining for 60 people
• 2 large event rooms for 70 people each
• Upstairs Bar/Entertainment area 80 people

The revised exterior form, materials and colors proposed by DKA and agreed to by the Owner and members of ‘Desert Color’ proved to be fitting for the community, while still providing a flare of energy in the façade that compliments the functions in this type of facility.
